Here is the commentary for the opening of Series 2 Ep 2 Lizards
Episode 2; Lizards
Somewhere in Cork;
The Episode begins with Peter unconscious, bound to a chair, and surrounded by the Irish thugs who found him in the Cork harbour crate. They wake him with a bucket of water and several hard blows to the face before they begin their interrogation. The leader, Ricky, demands to know what he was doing in the crate, and what happened to the iPods they were sent there to steal. Unfortunately for Peter, he doesn’t have answers, so they proceed to beat him until the scene mercifully changes to...
The Bennet House;
Claire’s mother is boiling an egg and accidentally drops her wedding ring into the water. After a couple of ‘dangits’ and a fair bit of staring, Claire kindly comes over to fish it out with her hand. Her blisters heal quickly but her mother verbally scolds her for showing off, because it could get her noticed. Claire complains that she can’t even be herself at home, but Noah gently reminds her that they need to lay low. Appeased, Claire leaves for school, and Mrs Bennet shows her husband that Kaito is dead. He says he saw it coming then explains that Isaac Mendez had drawn a series of 8 pictures which had not yet come true. This was in one of them.
The Ominous Balcony;
Ando is giving his statement on Kaito’s murder. Matt Parkman is part of the investigating team. They discuss the strangeness of two bodies falling and only one hitting the ground – as if the killer ‘flew away’. Then the inspector shows Matt the photo with the symbol on it. The photo has Angela Patrelli’s prints on it, so they decide to bring her in. Ando explains to Matt what the symbol means, and Matt tells Ando he needs to talk to Hiro. Ando says he does also.
Otsu, Japan, 1671;
Hiro searches for ‘scary white man’ – aka Kensei – and finds him passed out drunk under a tree. Hiro sobers him up by dunking his head in a trough and explains that Kensei needs to rescue and win the heart of Yaeko, the sword smith’s daughter, who incidentally hates him for being a charlatan. Kensei explains to Kiro that he looks like a fish when he talks – like a giant carp – then gracefully collapses back into his alcohol induced coma. Hiro dons Kensei’s armour and rides out himself to save her.
Claire’s School;
Claire’s class are learning about how newts and lizards can completely re-grow severed limbs. Clair naturally perks up at this point and asks if it’s possible for humans to learn to do this. Her teacher, delighted to have sparked some interest from one of his zombie-like students, engages her on a brief discussion on the possibilities of human regeneration. Her new (stalker)friend, West, looks intensely pleased with her interest in advanced evolution.
Hartsdale, NY;
Mohinder and Mr ‘Midas Touch’ Tobolowsky are in the office, and Suresh says he needs access to all information if he’s expected to help fight the virus. Tobolowsky explains that the virus is spreading, and Mo needs to go heal an infected man in Haiti. He also advises Mo not to get killed since he’s the only cure right now.
Guatemala, 30 km from Mexico;
Alej and Maya arrive at an old family friend’s house to ask her help across the border. She welcomes them in kindly and hugs them, recalling when they were children. Maya is unhappy that they are endangering the nice lady, but Alej reassures her that he wont let that happen.
Somewhere in Cork;
Peter is alone, still bloodied and tied to the chair. He starts trying to work his hands free of the ropes but the door opens and a pleasant young woman enters the room with a cloth and warm water. She makes polite small-talk, complimenting his necklace and asking what it means, and his name. He doesn’t know either. She tells him her name is Caitlin and begins to clean him up, even though her brother Ricky would ‘pitch an epic fit’ if he knew. She explains that the iPod heist was a crucial job for a man named McSorley and urges Peter to remember anything at all. He begins mumbling about the first thing he remembers; how the sparks came from his hands, then Caitlin realises that despite all the blood, there isn’t a scratch on him.
Haiti;
Mohinder finds the Haitian on his deathbed, suffering from the virus and offers to treat him. The Haitian doesn’t want to be cured, he believes its God’s will that he die - because he abused the power God had given him. Mohinder convinces him that God isn’t done with him yet and he agrees to take the treatment.
Guatemala, 30 km from Mexico;
Alej and Maya meet another lady who is gong to travel across the border. She is a spiritual healer and offers to help Maya. But when she touches her she becomes terrified and says that Maya carries blackness inside of her – enough to kill the devil. She tells Maya no one can help here, that she is cursed. Then she grabs her daughter and leaves.
Otsu, Japan, 1671;
Yaeko is fighting off 12 samurai. Hiro rides in and freezes time to disarm them all and impress them with the Legend that is Kensei. They flee and Yaeko thanks ‘Kensei’ before riding away with him.
Somewhere in Cork;
Peter is alone once more. While Caitlin works the bar in the next room, he resumes trying to tug his wrists from the ropes. He pulls with all the strength he can muster, but he can’t break free. He completely relaxes for a moment, his eyes losing focus, then his wrists phase smoothly out of he binds. Astonished, but not caring to stop and ponder, he gets up, grabs a shirt (sorry ladies) and starts to climb out of the window.
Two of McSorley’s thugs enter the bar and attack Caitlin. She kicks one in the nuts, but he obviously doesn’t have any. Peter comes back to help her and knocks the guy off her, using the same electrokinetic pulse he used in the shipping crate. He uses TK to rip the rifle from the other mans hand. The guy punches him, but Peter hits him back so hard he flies into the far wall. Both Peter and Caitlin look thoroughly astonished.
Claire’s School;
Claire’s (stalker)friend, West, corners her and tries to initiate a conversation about evolution and an amazing book he found, by ‘some Indian guy’, which explains everything – including a whole chapter on regeneration. Claire insists that she really doesn’t care and was just bored. But their banter is cut short when Claire arrives at her parking space to find the car gone.
Otsu, Japan, 1671;
Hiro and Yaeko stop in a beautiful grove of pink blossomed trees. Yaeko apologises for having misjudged him, and asks that he remove his mask. He says he can’t because her beauty is too disarming, and that his love for her is the stuff of legends. She closes her eyes to kiss him but he freezes time and vanishes. The way he looks at her suggests that he really is besotted.
Haiti;
The Haitian is cured. He and Mo talk about the virus and how it’s becoming more virulent. Mo lets slip that he works for the Company, so the Haitian wipes his memory and leaves. Goldfinger finds Suresh without recollection of the last half a way. He tells him he must have cured the Haitian for the Haitian to have wiped his memory. It’s not clear at this point whether it’s an act or if Mo really did have his mind wiped.
Near Mexico;
Maya and Alej get separated briefly by the border patrol. Maya gets upset and starts crying black tears. The nice lady who was guiding them cries black tears also and seems to die. Alej makes it over to them and takes Maya’s hand, singing to her softly. He seems to take the blackness into himself and vanquish it. The nice lady revives and runs from them in terror. They are left alone and Alej seems completely exhausted.
Copy Kingdom;
Claire tells her dad the car was stolen, and lets slip that she left it unlocked. He forgives her because he’s such an unrealistically awesome dad. She says she wants to find out what her power’s limits are in case she can help people, but he tells her she has to keep laying low because the Company would cut, test and torture her to find out what her limits are.
Police Station;
Parkman and his partner and questioning Angela about Kaito’s death. She responds to their ‘money and sex motive’ theory with the answer that she doesn’t need his money and hasn’t had sex with him for a long time. Matt picks up her thoughts that the killer is out for revenge and stupidly asks her who would want revenge. Angela, not being a complete imbecile, realises that he took the words out of her thoughts and shouts inside her mind to “Get out of my HEAD!”
Super, awesome, Flying-Man Nathan is in the lobby to pick up his mother. Parkman greets him and says he’s sorry for the loss of Peter. Then the lights dim out and they hear screaming from the room Angela is in. She’s being violently attacked by some invisible force. They break into the room and the attack stops, the lights immediately returning. She’s sat traumatised, holding a photo of herself with the symbol on it.
Somewhere in Cork;
Caitlin is asking Peter to explain the things he did. He says he didn’t do anything and she tells him off for pretending she’s stupid. Then her brother Ricky comes back and shouts at Peter for messing up McSorley’s son (the ‘sadistic bastrd' Peter sent through the wall). Peter makes a comment about letting them have Ricky’s sister next time, then Ricky gets angry and pulls out his gun. He explains that Peter changed a simple monetary problem into a blood war and that he had better help them put it right – specifically by helping them steal something big to appease McSorley. Peter quite rightly points out that they can’t make him do anything - he could just as easily deal with Ricky as he did with McSorley’s thugs. Ricky pulls out a box and tells him “You might want this – Peter.” So Peter finally relearns his name at least. Ricky claims that the box contains everything Peter had on him then they found him – including his identity – and that he can have the box if he helps them. For some unbeknown reason, Peter chooses not forcefully take back what is his. Perhaps he’s still too much of a gentleman.
Otsu, Japan, 1671;
Hiro fills Kensei in on what he missed and convinces him that he will win a beautiful lady and gain much reward by rescuing the swordsmith. Kensei agrees and they step outside, only to be met by the 12 samurai Hiro defeated in Ken’s guise. They fill Kensei with arrows and he dies, saying maybe he’ll be the hero next time around. Then he miraculously self resurrects, and Hiro understands at last why Kensei chose the word ‘Godsend’.
Matt, Mo & Molly’s house;
Mohinder returns home and tucks Molly into bed. He receives a call from Mr Bennet who he updates on his trip to Haiti. Mr Bennet says he now has all he needs to find the rest of the 8 paintings.
Copy Kingdom;
Mr Bennet hangs up from the call and turns around to greet the Haitian.
Bennet Household;
Mr Muggles is at home watching the show dogs on TV (this is clearly a very important plot-point) and Clair is reading about lizard limb regeneration. She has the smart idea of cutting off her little toe to test if it grows back. She cuts off her toe – sending it pinging across the room. Nothing happens at first (apart from the toe-pinging), but then it slowly grows back.
Mr Muggles starts barking at the window and Clair turns around to see (stalker) West staring in at her. She runs outside but he’s gone, leaving only a copy of Chandra Suresh’s book on genetics. The episode ends with Mr Muggles barking hysterically up and the sky, but Claire seems to preoccupied to look.

The new copycat power that has just emerged in ep 5 is cool, it is probably the most powerful power of all, this new character could be the most powerful of all, where Syler has to steal powers, the new girl (sorry cant remember her name) just has to see it used once and she can do it, providing she doesnt get herself killed early there could be no stopping her.

Why is Season 2 being cut short???
I have been wondering this myself, so I went to hayden's website,
http://www.hayden-panettiere.com/
and found out a wealth of information there as to why this is happening. It kind of sounds as if Tim Kring (creator) is somewhat ashamed of season 2.
He is not happy about Hiro being in Japan for too long a time and getting into a relationship.
He also regrets putting Claire into a relationship with the flying boy.
He has heard all the complaints and is doing something about it.
He wants to end season 2 and start fresh in season 3 as to gain back some of the fans that were lost this season.
It was stated that they have lost 15% of their viewers.
He was also influenced by the writer's strike that is going on right now.
I do agree with the mistakes that he says were made and am relieved that he felt this way too, but it did not make me any less of a fan. I still love the show to death and am sad to see season 2 end so soon. if you would like more detailed informations, it's all on Hayden's site:
